A graduate of Melbourne University’s Conservatorium of Music, Jesika relishes any opportunity she has to perform, as a vocalist or instrumentalist.
Appearances include: Rossini’s William Tell (Victorian Opera), Dialogues des Carmélites (MCM) and Paris: A Rock Odyssey (Music Theatre Melbourne) as well as many prestigious events with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir- Andrea Bocelli’s Melbourne concert at Rod Laver Arena, the Melbourne ANZAC Day Dawn Service, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, The Prime Minister’s Olympic Gala and the Olivia Newton-John Carity Gala.
Jesika is also an accomplished conductor, working as guest conductor with the Monash Concert Band and the Victorian State School’s Spectacular. Jesika’s freelance singing incorporates a vast array of styles: as a founding member of the Chorus Ecclesiae specialising in Gregorian chant and sacred polypphony; as cantor for St Micahel’s Uniting Church, Melbourne; pit singer for Chess (OSMaD, 2017) and at corporate functions and celebratory events including caroling at Christmas.
Aside from performing, Jesika loves to share her musical knowledge and passion with her students. She began her studies in piano with Yamaha Music Education and under the tutelage of Peter Hurley was awarded her Associate of Music Diploma in 2017. Jesika was fortunate to have such fantastic teachers and mentors who instilled in her a love of music and she wishes to inspire the same love in her own students. Jesika’s vocal and piano students range from five years old to adulthood and they regularly participate in Australian Music Education Board (AMEB) exams, school musicals and performances. She has accompanied many school choirs and accompanies for AMEB and music scholarship exams. Jesika also offers coaching to prepare for auditions.
She is currently completing a Master of Music (Performance Teaching) degree specialising in Classical Voice, working with mentor Suzanne Johnston, and piano pedagogy at The University of Melbourne; teaching piano and voice at Caulfield Grammar, Yarra Valley Grammar, Music Works Magic and privately.
She also loves to play golf and is more than happy to share a few stories during a round.
